"The greatest glory of nature....the union of the deepest sublimity with the deepest beauty" Frederick Law Olmsted

In 1855 James Mason Hutchings visited Yosemite, the first in a steady stream of visitors to the magnificent wonders found there. By 1864 the popularity of the site led to the introduction of a bill by Senator John Conness (CA) to give 60 acres to the state of California that would be forever dedicated to public use, resort and dedication.

Yosemite is a family favorite....with many visits over the years.  Here are some favorite pictures .

Inspiration

I had taken a few years off as I tackled things like the FGS treasurer's job.  Maura's strip kit gift in 2010 inspired me to get back to the sewing machine and I haven't stopped since.

This is my Fall quilt!! There was enough to make a window seat cover to match.

CSP - Salt Point

Another park visited on the way home on 4th of July weekend, Salt Point State Park is also in Sonoma County, north of Sonoma Coast State Park.

Sweeping ocean views and campgrounds nestled in the trees make it a very inviting place!

The Tuffet

Greg was always excited when I found ways to use his old ties, and he had many, his one vanity!  I think he would have like the tuffet.
