About

Some years ago I started a blog "Trindle Travels Thru time" to share the genealogy I had gathered on the Trindle family.  A little later I started a second blog "Madden Moments", the genealogy of my father's family.  Soon to follow were "From Ireland to Minnesota with a Sprinkle of Bavaria" my mother's family genealogy and "Millie" my mother-in-laws genealogy.  This then is the last of my blogs....dedicated to everything but genealogy.

Here you will find my quilts and visits to quilt stores.  Travels to parks, beaches, lighthouses, missions ....  my gardens, and that occasional story from my childhood. I also keep my book list here, an attempt to not start the same book twice and to remember the authors I like, or those that I didn't.

As 2020 begins, I am promising myself that I will be better about posting to all five blogs.....to this one hopefully once a week, and to each of the genealogy blogs at least once a month.  But don't hold me to it, I've been remiss in the past.

So for anyone who doesn't know me.  I was born in the middle of the California desert (China Lake) many years ago.  When I was six we moved to Fair Oaks where I  attended St. Mel's School (new when I started 2nd grade) and then Mercy High School (also new as freshmen we were the only class....by senior year that class had just forty of us, and every year we were the top class!!

I have attended many colleges over the years, first UC Santa Cruz, but getting married soon after starting I finished an accounting AA first at American River JC and then at Canada College. I had my own bookkeeping company for over thirty years, not only keeping books for a number of small businesses, but also setting up computer bookkeeping systems and doing a little forensic bookkeeping (finding the missing funds!)  That was fun!

Genealogy was a second career.....with a certificate in British Research from Brigham Young and a certificate in Genealogical Librarianship from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies (U of Toronto), I was certified for a number of years before retiring to spend time traveling and with grandchildren.

I still work on my own genealogy and give an occasional talk on Irish research.

And I still try to satisfy my passion for learning.....Duolingo for Irish and Spanish, The Great Courses Plus for hours of history and cooking and more.......

I was joyfully married for forty-four years and have two wonderful daughters, four fabulous granddaughters and one fantastic grandson.
