NP - Badlands

Just one of the many amazing parks we toured on our Lewis and Clark Adventure.  The Badlands was first authorized as a National Memorial in 1929, but not actually organized until 1939.  I was elevated to a National Park in 1978.

Read more about the history of this 242,756 acre park using the links below.  While desert isn't my favorite landscape, the majesty of the pinnacles and peaks can't help but move even the greatest "tree lover".

Hobo Signs

I worked on this as we made our way along the Lewis and Clark Trail from Oregon to South Dakota.  It is made from ties, pieces of silk, trims and some special materials.

Oops

It was all together before I noticed one heart was out of kilter!  Not sure how that happened. But then it  gave the quilt a good name!

NM - Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore National Memorial is located in the Black Hills in Keystone, South Dakota.  Sculpted by Gutzon Borglum with the help of his son Lincoln between 1927 and 1941, it includes the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

It was one of many treasures we explored on our Lewis and Clark trip.  I'm pretty sure I saw it as a baby, but I don't remember that!!

Flower Garden

A little quilt, just big enough for a cradle, filled with flowers, frogs and summer cheer.

Thrive

Adopted by Saige as she headed out to college, Thrive is a study in green...with some lavender tones.
