CALIFORNIA REGISTRER HISTORICAL LANDMARK #325
Although there are some unique features to the church it is has the same main "Spanish" characteristic of all of the California missions. There was also a unique stone building in the back. Perhaps an old stable?
San Luis Obispo de Tolosa was established 1 September 1772, the fifth mission founded by Father Junipero Serra. It was named for Saint Louis, Bishop of Toulouse, France.
The town of San Luis Obispo is built around the mission, and it seems to be a very active church.
I visited on a cloudy January morning. A few visitors were around and a contingent of homeless.
